Late in November 2024 the Pacific Northwest took a direct hit from a “Bomb Cyclone”. Needless to say the damage was huge. Both Camp Edwards and Piggott we hit pretty hard, The Scouts asked for our help in cleaning up the camps. January 4th and the 11th were work party days. On the 4th we had 16 volunteers. Our area to clean was the BBgun range. The existing building was destroyed by a couple of large trees. A special tanks to those who helped out.
The January 4th crew consisted of: Bryan Reightley, Brian D., Len Douma, Jason Milsom, Roger Young, Rod Wiegand, Jim Stewart, Eric Bell, Rich Cook, Luke Vollema, Annabelle Vollema, Don Bailey, Michael Conniff, Jay Bell, Ronna Weeks and Mark Weeks
January 4th BB-Gun Range
January 11th Look-out Point
Saturday January 11th we got the opportunity to help out at Camp Piggott, the weather was cool but at least it was not as wet as the week before. The area that we were assigned was called Look-out Point, once again a couple of large trees took out parts of structures if not the whole thing. Michael and a small team worked their magic and reattach the front area with the main structure the rest of our group, hauled branches and small trees to the woodchipper, hauled tree rounds to a spot for firewood collection, and prepared some of the tent structures for later repair. I was extremely proud of all the work that we did.
